At 24, I had a master’s degree, a life that could have followed a perfectly sensible path… and no desire whatsoever to let it. So I left my native Alsace and set off alone for the other side of the world. My name is Bianca, and four years later, this blog tells the story of how a journey became a way of life and then, quite unexpectedly, a career.

My travels took me from Patagonia to Alaska, hitchhiking around Iceland and across Canada, where I collected odd jobs along with the miles. I had left to discover the world, but along the way, I discovered the kind of life that truly felt like mine: a life spent outdoors and on the move, always heading a little farther north, to places where the roads begin to disappear.

What was meant to be just one adventure among many ultimately changed the course of my life. Drawn ever farther north, I lived and worked in the Canadian Arctic and then in Norway, before turning my passion for the polar regions into a career. Today, I work as an adventure guide, leading sea kayaking and hiking expeditions from the Mediterranean to Greenland.

Between expeditions, I continue to share stories from this unconventional life, the lessons I have learned along the way, and the realities of adventure, including the parts that are not always as idyllic as they seem. I hope to inspire other dreamers to take a chance on the unknown, because sometimes, losing your way is exactly how you end up finding your own.
